Frequently asked questions

A unified gateway to trusted third-party data — sources, KYC, AML, resilience and why a single integration matters.

What is WhoYou Comply?

WhoYou Comply is a unified gateway to trusted third-party data from government sources, credit bureaus, state repositories, sanctions lists and other local or global providers. It helps organisations perform identity, compliance and risk checks without building and maintaining a separate integration for every source.

Which government, credit and sanctions data sources can WhoYou Comply access?

Available sources can include the Department of Home Affairs, SACRRA, CIPC, the Deeds Office, Government Gazette, municipal data, credit reference agencies, anti-fraud databases and international sanctions lists. Access depends on the contracted service, the client's authorisation and source availability.

How does WhoYou Comply support KYC, FICA and AML checks?

The platform can provide trusted identity and demographic information, sanctions and PEP screening, risk information and supporting reports. These checks can form part of the client's wider customer due-diligence, monitoring and audit-readiness processes.

Does using WhoYou Comply make our organisation automatically compliant?

No. WhoYou provides tools and evidence that support compliance processes, but each organisation remains responsible for its legal obligations, risk-based approach, customer due diligence, decision rules, record keeping and regulatory reporting.

What happens if a preferred source is unavailable?

The response will identify the source used and the outcome of the check. Depending on the client's approved configuration, the workflow may use another authorised source, an acceptable previously verified record, document capture or an exception-review process. Source and fallback rules will be agreed during implementation.

Why use a unified gateway instead of integrating with providers directly?

A unified gateway can reduce the number of technical integrations, contracts and security boundaries that the client must manage. It also provides a consistent way to request checks, receive results and add or change supported sources as requirements evolve.
